OBJET TROUVE
Typography
Editorial
Objects serve a purpose, such as, a spanner turns nuts and tightens bolts, scissors cut things, or a fridge magnet that reminds us of a happy holiday, that doubles as a bottle opener. Could there be a different purpose?
I have observed and explored the visual forms of an array of objects in order to create a set of experimental letterforms. With guidelines, I have designed four type families that have then been grouped together in different sets according to the locations that they were found - my living room, the design school studio, charity shops and my kitchen. These are now fully functional typefaces.
